Candidate for Jasper County Sheriff

Donald L. Hipp was elected Sheriff of Jasper County in November of 2020. He is seeking Re-Election on November 05, 2024. Sheriff Hipp believes in organizational and individual rights as well as equality of all people. He has a passion for law enforcement and assisting the public. Sheriff Hipp has an extensive law enforcement background. He has worked in law enforcement for the past 30 + years. He spent 28 years with the Jasper County Sheriff's Office. The last 4 years prior to becoming Sheriff in 2020 was spent working for the 14th Circuit Solicitor's Office as a Career Criminal Investigator.

Sheriff Hipp has firsthand knowledge of what it takes to get cases prosecuted. As Sheriff, he uses this knowledge to enhance the capabilities and effectiveness of the Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Hipp believes that by working together, we can all contribute to making Jasper County a better and safer place to live and work.

A few of his training and certificates include US Custom Services, Homicide Investigations, Multi-Jurisdiction Counterdrug Task Force Training, Narcotic Commander Course, and Gangs and Narcotics Training. He was sworn in as a special Deputy US Marshal and he is a three-time recipient of the Officer of the Year Award, the most recent was last year 2023. He has also received special recognition from the Detectives' Endowment Association from the city of New York. In 2023 He was also selected as the 51 st Grand Marshal by the Gopher Hill Festival Committee of Ridgeland. His education and experience collectively qualify him for the position of Sheriff. As your Sheriff, he will continue to use this knowledge to enhance the capabilities and effectiveness of the Sheriff's Office.
